Request from Projekt/ CAV1 listening post problem at Borders.

Hello. I was hoping you could post the following to the Discussion list:

Hi. This is Sam from Projekt. Lycia's "Compilation Appearances Vol 1"
is running in a Borders listening station from Feb 15 - April 15th.
Unfortunately, we have been receiving reports of non-compliance from
fans who couldn't find the CD. I am hoping that each of your can stop
by a Borders and help me get a better picture of the situation out in
field....

I stopped by two Borders in Chicago last weekend, and neither had the
station working. We are averaging about 50% non-compliance in fan
reports I have received.... if this average holds up nationwide, I
need to let Borders know.

Ok, here is what you can do for me (consider it a little goth-spy
adventure!):

Find the "It's the song that matters"-themed listening station (in
the pop/rock) area; see if Lycia's CD is on display. If it is, run
the barcode under the scanner and it should access the music (this is
something new, some stores still have the regular old-fashioned
listening post). If it doesn't access the CD or the station isn't up,
please ask a music dept person what the problem is. Usually, they
will say something like "well, it's not suppose to be in that
station" or "um, all the stations are down." (you can disprove this,
by wanding the new Steely Dan, or Placebo). Please remember the
general gist of the employee's reply. If you need a "cover story" say
that you saw an ad for this listening station in the March issue of
Alternative Press (it's true!).

Here's a check list to fill out:

1. date / time of your visit
2. store address (street/city/state)
3. check one:
        ___ no listening station
        ___ cd on display in listening station but wouldn't play
        ___ everything was perfect
3. name of person you spoke with at the store (to show borders
corporate that you made contact)
4. that person's title (music manager / sales person / etc)
5. comments on "compliance issue" (IE: what the problem was)
6. comments on store experience (IE: were they helpful, ignorant, rude,
etc).

Please do this as soon as you can, visit multiple stores if at all
possible. I want to barrage Borders with complaints, if this is - in
fact - a nationwide problem. And if it is only isolated, I want to
know that our money was well spent.
