Administrivia: quoting and citing

When replying to a message on the list, please edit your replies!  It will
make everyone's life easier, and the threads easier to follow.

There's no need to quote the entire message (and any others that the previous
poster forgot to remove).  Remove any signatures, and mailing list footers,
and unneeded lines from the previous message.  Only include the relevant
information.  Do not provide too little where people can't follow the thread,
but it's also important not to include tons of useless rubbish that just takes
up space and makes the thread harder to follow.

Some poorly designed email clients default to quoting the message below your
reply.  This only encourages sloppy emailing and makes your messages harder to
follow.  Please change this default to follow the standard email behaviour,
which lists the quoted lines before your reply and signature.
